Why Goal-Setting is Essential for Business Success
There are many tools and resources available to build and grow your small business. One useful and important tool that I have always used is goal-setting. Especially as a mom and wife, two roles that I take very seriously, and then as a small business owner, I have high expectations of where I want to be from one year to the next and I know how easy it can be to divert from what is important.. I see my time and energy as commodities that I don't enjoy wasting. Once I have written my goals down, I have made a decision on how I will be spending my time and energy.
As a business coach, I believe strongly in goal-setting because I know how it has worked for myself and how it has worked for my clients. We hire travel agents to get us from one destination to another as smoothly and easily as possible, and that is what I do as a coach. Think of goal-setting as the map, and your vision as the end point. Every year, I sit down and write out every goal for the next year which helps me to prioritize what I am going to do with my time that year. I encourage everyone to take the time for themselves to decide what you really want this year, and write it down. Revisit it throughout the year and see where you are versus where you want to be.
